Physiotherapy Assessment and Treatment
Initial Assessment
This will include speaking to your physiotherapist about your symptoms and the effect it has on your daily life. We will identify goals and expectations of treatment and take a brief medical history.
We will then perform a detailed physical assessment which will assess range of movement, strength and specific tests to make an accurate diagnosis.
Your physiotherapist will then discuss your diagnosis and treatment options.
Treatment begins immediately by the physiotherapist and mainly consists of hands-on techniques to lengthen tight muscle, reduce spasm and mobilise/ manipulate stiff joints.
You will then be given a few simple exercises or stretches, advice on how to self-manage your pain and further treatment sessions will be booked if required.
Treatments
We use a variety of modalities to treat your condition, these include:
Hands-on physiotherapy – mobilisations, manipulations, soft tissue massage, trigger point massage, traction/ distraction techniques.
